The Watertown Animal Hospital is a full service small animal hospital and ambulatory large animal practice serving the Jefferson and Lewis county areas of Northern New York.
Small Animal
We currently have three fully licensed and accredited DVMs who are dedicated to providing high quality services for your canine and feline friends.
We are currently accepting new clients on a limited basis. We can offer you the following services:
- Spay and Neuter
- Vaccinations
- Boarding
- Annual Wellness Exams
- Dental Cleanings
We have a full in-house lab for immediate evaluation of blood and feces.
Large Animal
We currently have two fully licensed and accredited ambulatory large animal veterinarian who is dedicated to providing high quality services to production and and companion livestock clients. Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Miller are excited to meet you and your livestock. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our current large animal client base consists of dairy producers, small beef producers, small sheep and goat flocks, as well as pet ruminants (sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, etc.), and the occasional horse or pig.
We are looking to expand our large animal client base and invite you to call us for any services that you require. We can offer you the following ambulatory services:
- Pregnancy diagnosis by ultrasound (down to 28 days) and including:
- Evaluation of ovarian structures
- Presence of twins
- Fetal sexing between 65 and 85 days
- Herd check scheduling to fit your needs
- Vaccination, preventive, and regulatory work including:
- Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI)
- Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)
- EIAs (Coggins testing)
- Blood and tissue sampling for other regulatory/ investigatory testing
- Field necropsy
- Equine dentistry
- Disbudding of calves by heat cautery or caustic paste
- Sick animal evaluation and treatment, including conventional and organic therapies
- Obstetrical challenges (calving troubles)
- Field surgery, including:
- Displaced abomasum repair by standing left flank approach
- Castration
- Cesarean section and/or fetotomy
- Laceration repair and other miscellaneous surgery
- Herd level disease outbreak investigation
- Development and maintenance of SOPs and Protocols, including staff training
We have a full in-house lab for immediate evaluation of blood and feces. We also send samples to the Cornell Animal Health Diagnostic Center and Quality Milk Production Services for evaluation. We have a full in-hospital pharmacy as well as well-stocked mobile pharmacies. We offer drop-shipment of medications, competitive prices on all of our medications, and up to a 25% discount on medications for our production animal clients.
