Job Description:
We are currently hiring for a FT Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team! The licensed veterinary technician supervisor (LVT-S) will supervise, direct, plan, coordinate and perform a variety of animal-health and client-education duties while assisting in the organization and directing the technical team. The technician supervisor ensures quality pet care and promotes greater efficiency by helping to relieve veterinarians (DVMs) and the practice manager (PM) of some technical and administrative work.
The LVT-S will spend the majority of his/her time performing general technician duties while also observing and evaluating other technicians and assistants in order to guide and aid them. The LVT-S educates other technicians, keeps them on task, and sets an example for others. The LVT-S should be proficient in all technician duties (exam rooms, laboratory, phone calls, and surgery duties) and, in general, be able to coordinate with DVMs so that appropriate protocols are followed in both patient care and client service by the other technicians and team members employed by the hospital.
When not performing technician duties, the LVT-S carries out basic administrative duties, including special projects, implementation of new ideas and/or procedures, and aids in employee management, including training, coaching, coordinating, and assisting with scheduling and evaluations. The LVT-S prioritizes projects and completes them in the order of greatest importance, delegating to other technicians as appropriate.
