What do I do in the case of an emergency and your clinic isn’t open?

In an EMERGENCY (after hours), call 315-788-1711. You will reach Guardian Vets, where you will talk to a Customer Service Representative and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Depending on the severity of the emergency, you will either see an on call veterinarian or be referred to a 24-hour emergency clinic (with VMC in Syracuse being the closest). If you are referred to an on call doctor, the doctor will return your call as soon as possible. Remember to stay off your phone line so the doctor may reach you.  Also remember to allow blocked calls, as the doctors often call on a private number.

The Watertown Animal Hospital shares our on call services with 2 other local veterinarian practices. Your call will be answered either by one of our veterinarians or a veterinarian from one of the other two practices. If your pet needs to be seen, you will be directed to either the Watertown Animal Hospital (our hospital), Animal Doctors on State St., or VCA North Country Animal Hospital on Route 3.
